Free Memory Screening & Lecture on the Challenging Behaviors of Alzheimer's

PUNTA GORDA, FL (February 21, 2014) - In partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association-Florida Gulf Coast Chapter, Bayfront Health Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda are offering free memory screenings and a lecture about Alzheimer’s Disease.

On Wednesday, March 12 at 2 p.m., a lecture titled “The Challenging Behaviors of Alzheimer’s” will be presented by Linda Howard, program specialist at the Alzheimer’s Association. She will talk about common symptoms that accompany dementia and tips on how to interpret and redirect common behavior issues. The lecture will be held at Bayfront Health Punta Gorda’s Medical Office Plaza in its 4th floor conference room, located at 713 E. Marion Avenue in Punta Gorda. Light refreshments will be served.

In addition, on Thursday, March 13 and Friday, March 14, The Alzheimer’s Association’s Memory Mobile will be available at the Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte hospitals, performing initial memory screenings free of charge. This screening provides a patient with baseline risk information to share with a physician. Screening opportunities are limited, so call to schedule your free screening today.
